Prelim Task finished cut

Since my last post my group has finished editing the footage we recorded for our prelim task, which entailed lip syncing our recording up to Busted's 'What I go to School For'. While the final video turned out ok, there were a few issues. For example, when trying to transfer the footage from he camera we used onto the Mac, some of the footage was missing and therefor couldn't be used. This meant that we needed to re-think how we were going to edit the video, as the footage lost was only of Oliva, one of our group members. On top of this, some of the footage of Ryan was unusable, due to him covering his mouth at certain parts of the video. This meant that an uneven amount of the video featured my footage, which I think hurt the overall video. However the footage that we could use was lip synced quite effectively, on top of this, despite some of the difficulties, we were able to implement some of the editing ideas that we wanted to use, like quickly editing the last three shots of the video to the beats in the music. Overall, while my feeling about our video are mixed, this prelim task has definitely been useful, both in giving us practice in editing and lip syncing, but also in giving us a better idea of the footage that we need in the filming process, now that we have a better appreciation for the editing process and some of the issues that can arise if our footage is flawed.
